Abstract

1336489 Induction passages SOC ANON AUTOMOBILES CITROEN 23 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970 8 Dec 1971] 60099/71 Heading F1B An I.C. engine cylinder head assembly comprises an induction passage symmetrical about a plane containing the axes of the associated cylinder and inlet valve and having a first portion in the form of a surface of revolution generated about a first axis 22, Fig. 1 and a second portion downstream of the first portion and in the form of a surface of revolution generated about a second axis OY coincident with the axis of the inlet valve. The passage successively consists of a cylindrical portion 2a, a transitional portion 2b, frusto- conical portions 2c, 2e, cylindrical portion 2f and a transitional portion 2g, the portions 2c, 2e being tangential to a spherical portion 2d. In another embodiment the third passage portion on axis Z 2 Z 2 Fig. 3 inter-connects the first and second passage portion. The transitional portions have surfaces which are part of toroidal surfaces.
