Abstract

1336306 Snow ploughs DENBIX BRUSHES Ltd 14 Dec 1970 [17 Dec 1969] 61580/69 Heading E1G A snow plough includes a horizontal rotor in two portions arranged transversely of the plough, the rotor having helically arranged means thereon e.g. a helical blade to move snow along its own length, said means being arranged to be away from the surface, and further, more flexible portions in the form of flexible filamentary brushes for sweeping the surface. The plough may include a slotted tube 22 from which air is directed under pressure through slot 23 to lift the surface snow, air coming from compressor 18, which also may provide an air cushion via device 26 to raise the rotor axis. A petrol engine drives the rotor, the compressor and an impeller 16 which passes snow from an opening in hood 14 up a discharge chute 17. The brushes may constitute tufts of wire, as shown, which may alternatively be fixed to a helical wire running between the helical blades (Fig. 3, not shown). The slot 23 may be of variable dimensions.
