1335792 Resilient Laths MAERKI-BAPST & CIE 4 April 1972 [18 May 1971] 15389/72 Heading A4M The body supporting surface of a bed which is provided with an inclined head rest and which comprises a plurality of electrically flexible transverse slats has at least two slats 6, 7 of different elastic bending resistance supported between each pair of a plurality of pairs of bearings 3 pivotally mounted on the bed frame for rotation about transverse axes 4 such that on rotation of the bearings one or the other of the two slats may be brought into the body supporting surface to adjust the hardness of the surface to the requirements of the user. The bearings may be locked against rotation by using serations or spring catches.
