Abstract

1335452 Pre-formed line ties PREFORMED LINE PRODUCTS CO 26 March 1971 7930/71 Heading D1T [Also in Division E2] A pre-formed line tie has a first leg 11' that is substantially straight, a second leg 12' helically preformed to a predetermined diameter and pitch length, and a bight 13' connecting the two legs together at one end. Fig. 4 shows how such a line tie can be applied to a twostrand cable having a figure-eight cross-sectional shape. The straight leg 11' lies in the depression of one side of the figure-eight crosssection and the helical leg 12 is wrapped around both the cable and the straight leg 11'. Fig. 4 also shows how two such pre-formed line ties can be applied to the cable in a manner providing a tangential support loop 13', 13" for the cable. The cable engaging surfaces of the legs may be knurled or gritted.
