Abstract

1334842 Pan assembly in dry gas meters PARKINSON COWAN Ltd 2 Nov 1970 [31 July 1969] 38405/69 Heading G1R A measuring chamber assembly for use in a dry gas meter comprises pan members 2, 4 and at least one diaphragm 6 wherein the pan members have porting for the flow of gas 50, 52, and peripheral portions 36, 38 that are resiliently engageable with each other to secure the members together and are arranged to grip sealingly between them at least a part of the peripheral region of the or a diaphragm 6. As described the pan members are circular but have wells (16) Fig.2, 3, 5, (not shown) to accomodate flag rods connecting the diaphragms to distributing valve and metering mechanisms and bridges (48) are provided across the well to engage and seal the edge of the circular diaphragm. The engageable peripheral portions of the pan members are a rigid flange 36 and a resiliently deformable hook-shaped hip 38. The sealing of the diaphragm is improved by beading 46. The pans have integrally moulded conduits 50, 52 by which gas flows to and from the measuring chambers and which have screw holes 54 by which the measuring chambers may be suspended from a valve plate.
