Abstract

1334550 Temperature measurement ROSEMOUNT ENG CO Ltd 11 Jan 1972 [11 Jan 1971] 1306/71 Heading G1D A temperature sensor assembly comprising a sensor 10 biased by a spring 16 so that its tip 12a is in good thermal contact with the closed end 12b of a pocket 32 in a body 11 is characterized by the provision of a collet 22 which surrounds the sensor 10 and which has jaws 23, 24 at each end, the jaws being urged into gripping engagement with the sensor 10 by abutment surfaces 26, 28 provided respectively in the pocket and a retaining nut 15 screw threaded on to the body 11. The collet 22 provides extra support for the sensor 10 in the body 11 which may be screw threaded externally for connection to a diesel engine arrangement in which temperatures are to be sensed.
