Abstract

1334025 High pressure hoses ORSZAGOS GUMIIPARI VALLALAT 15 June 1971 28048/71 Heading F2P A flexible high strength wire-reinforced rubber hose comprises at least three load bearing wire plies each being formed of a plurality of individual resiliently flexible wires disposed in helical convolutions about the hose axis, the outermost and innermost plies being at angles, the difference between being 6 to 80 degrees and the angles of three contiguous wire plies satisfying the equation:- where D, D<SP>1</SP>, D<SP>11</SP> are respective diameters of successive plies, and α, α<SP>1</SP>, α<SP>11</SP> are the wrapping angles of the plies. As shown, the hose comprises an inner rubber layer 28 surrounded by fabric 26, in turn covered by successive wire plies 10, 12, 14, 16 mutually separated by rubberized cloths 19, 20, 22, and in turn covered by another fabric layer 30 and an outer rubber layer 32. The plies 10, 12 are of opposite hand as are plies 14, 16, whereas plies 12, 14 are of like hand. Alternatively one pair of opposed plies is replaced by a layer of rectangular cross-section wire wound at a very low wrapping angle.
