Abstract

1333944 Valves G G ELLISON Ltd 21 July 1971 [19 Aug 1970] 39892/70 Heading F2V A breather cap 15, for use with an hydraulic (oil) tank 1, incorporates a pressure-relieving valve 24, 27 and a vacuum-relieving valve 32, 33, a filter 18 being disposed in the flow path between a connection with atmosphere at 16 and one with the tank at 19, 30a. The pressure relief valve comprises a hollow piston-like member 25 which is slidable within an upstanding annular wall 22, the uppermost end of the wall constituting the seat 24. The piston member 25, which is biased against its seat 24 by a spring 31, contains a ported guide member 29 for the stem 35 of the vacuum-relieving valve member 33, the latter member being biased against its seat 32, formed in the piston member 25, by a spring 36. The cap, which is releasably securable to the tank by the inter-engagement of flanges 13, 14, carries a dip stick 37.
