Abstract

1333228 Moulding tyres UNIROYAL AG 25 Nov 1970 [29 Nov 1969] 55996/70 Heading B5A A pneumatic tyre mould comprising side wall forming parts 2, 3 and radially and axially movable tread forming segments 4, includes a guide member 7 controlling movement of the segments as the parts 2, 3 are brought together and separated, the guide member having inclined guide surfaces 6 which engage correspondingly shaped outer surfaces of the segments. The said surfaces are shaped so that any crosssection taken therethrough in a plane perpendicular to the mould axis has the form of an arc of a circle or of an ellipse. Each segment may be grooved at 9 to receive a pin 8; adjacent guide surfaces 6 are separated by lateral guide elements 17.
