Abstract

1332578 Sights J SOMFAY 22 Oct 1971 [26 Oct 1970] 49172/71 Heading F3C A foresight for a firearm having an open back sight has a longitudinally extending central slot 13 which extends throughout the length of the foresight in a direction parallel to the axis of the bore of the firearm. In an embodiment a pistol 10 has a back sight 11 having a parallel sided aperture and a foresight 12 having a central slot 13, the depth of which is two-thirds or threequarters of the depth of the foresight. In use the slot 13 facilitates alignment with an imaginary line 15 and its apparent width may be equal to the virtual space at each side of the foresight.
