Abstract

1332445 Suspended conveyer systems; slot conduits; wheels HERO FORDERTECHNIK GmbH [trading as HERO FORDERTECHNIK GmbH & CO KG] 29 Feb 1972 9296/72 Headings B7L and B7C A suspended conveyer system comprises an elongated hollow rail structure 1 carrying conveyer trolleys each having running gear 4 at least part of which is driven by an individual electric motor 14 operable by alternating current at selectable ones of different frequencies, the rail structure 1 being adapted to be mounted in suspension and having a cross-section such as to surround the running gear 4 and motor 14 of each trolley on three sides and partially on a fourth side. Electric conductor rails 8 are mounted on the ceiling of the rail structure 1 to supply the motors 14. Running gear 4 is connected to its trolley for pivotal movement, in a plane perpendicular to the direction of trolley motion along the rail structure, about an axis 16 substantially level with the rail surface 2 supporting the trolleys. The trolley wheels 3 have tyres 26 of noise-damping material such as rubber and lateral guidance is provided by the sliding co-operation of annular guide portions 28 with the lower inner faces 27 of the rail structure 1. The guide portions 28 are formed of synthetic plastics material of low-coefficient of friction such as a polyamide, and may be attached to or integral with a central body portion 29 of the respective wheel. Each trolley comprises two running gears 4 connected by brackets 22 to a member 23 provided at each end with a spring buffer 24.
