Abstract

1332172 Vehicle lamps JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 29 April 1971 [19 June 1970] 29824/70 Heading F4R A vehicle lamp assembly comprises a reflector unit 11 adapted to be secured to a body panel 27 of a road vehicle and including at least one dished reflector such as 12, 13, 14 having a bulb holder at its closed end, and a lens unit 19 fastened to the reflector unit, the or each fastening device comprising a first part such as a threaded shank 25 secured to the lens unit and a second part such as a nut 26 which, when engaged with the first part, also engages the exterior surface of the reflector unit remote from the lens unit. The shank 25 is embedded in a spigot 24 moulded integrally with the lens unit, and projects through an aperture in the reflector unit with the end of the spigot in abutment with the interior surface of the reflector unit. A sealing gasket 22 is seated in a peripheral channel 21 in the reflector unit and is compressed by the peripheral wall 23 of the lens unit. Bolts (28, Fig. 2, not shown) project through the bottom of the channel 21 to secure the assembly to the panel 27.
