Abstract

1331713 Seed depositing machine AMAZONEN-WERKE H DREYER 19 April 1971 [7 March 1970] 22914/71 Heading AID A machine for depositing seeds and fertilizer comprises coulters 11 which pivot about bearings 9 on supporting levers 10. Material from a container 2 passes through adjustable openings 23, proportioning device 24 and pipelines 25 into passages 26 which are rigidly connected to the coulters 11 by holders 28 carrying pivoted supports 29. Each pivoted support 29 has upper and lower skids 37, 31. The coulters 11 may be raised by levers 12 when the machine is to be used to spread material on the ground surface, the upper skid 37 then effecting spreading. In the lowered position, when being pulled by a tractor, the supports 29 pivot to a rearward position (29'), Fig. 3 (not shown). The coulters 11 then draw furrows which the front edges of the upper skids 3 cover after the seeds or fertilizer has been deposited. Coulter tips 35 act as a forward stop to the skids 31, 37, an upturned lip 46 similarly acting as a rearward stop. The support 29 pivot about an axis 30 on bolts which ride in downwardly and rearwardly extending slots thereby reducing the possibility of damage during coulter lowering and drilling.
