Abstract

1330093 Grab buckets ALGOSHIP INTERNATIONAL Ltd 25 Feb 1972 [25 Feb 1971 26 May 1971] 8782/72 Heading B8H Each of a pair of grab bucket shells, Fig. 1 (not shown), is secured to a shaft 9, 10 rotatably mounted on the underside of a housing 6 containing an actuating ram 20, a pump connected to an electric motor and an hydraulic accumulator. The ram 20 is pivotally mounted at 21 and its piston-rod is pivoted to an arm 13 secured to the shaft 9. An arm 16, secured to the shaft 10, is connected to the arm 13 by a tie rod 17. The arms 13, 16 and the ram 20 may be duplicated. An electro-hydraulic control circuit, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), for operating the grab by using the accumulator alone or in combination with the pump is described. A timing mechanism is included whereby the pressure in the accumulator may be controlled in conjunction with the lifting speed of the crane.
