Abstract
1329034 Push-pull cable control device NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP 19 April 1971 [25 May 1970] 25376/71 Headings B7E and B7H A control device which, in use, applies balanced forces to a pair of servient mechanisms L and R comprises a control shaft 40 mounted in a housing 20 for rotation and axial translation, and operatively connected (such as by lever arm 50 and universal joints 52A and 52B) to one end of each of a pair of link means 51A and 51B, the other end of each of which is connected to one of a pair of throw members (such as bell cranks 23A and 23B) movably mounted on the housing 20 to operate a pair of force transmitting means (such as push-pull cables 12) connected respectively to the servient mechanisms L and R. Each connection between a link means 51A or 51B and a bell crank 23A or 23B (such as universal joint 53A or 53B) may have thrust stabilization means in the form of a post portion 61 having flanges 66, 68 engaging opposite sides of a side plate 25A or 25B of the housing 20 which has an arcuate slot 65 to receive the post portion 61. The servient mechanisms L and R may be a dual output clutch-brake device used for skid-steering of a vehicle.
