Abstract

132,893. Morterud, E. Oct. 1, 1918. Vapours, utilizing for effecting further evaporation; separate heater and evaporator apparatus. -In apparatus for evaporating liquids, in which the vapours generated from the liquid are compressed and used for heating the liquid, the liquid is circulated through the heater A under pressure to avoid vaporization, and is admitted in the form of spray to a separate evaporating-chamber E kept at a lower pressure. The vapours are withdrawn from the evaporator E by a perforated pipe L, and are compressed by a pump M through a pipe K into the heater A. The liquid is led from the evaporator by a pipe H, is forced by a pump I through a pipe G to the heater A, and is returned by a perforated pipe D to the evaporator. A turbulent motion is imparted to the liquid passing through the pipes B of the heater by means of baffles T. The liquid entering the system is preheated in an exchanger N by means of condensate formed in the heater A.
