Abstract

1328752 Packaging H FOCKE L UHINK and H PFUHL [trading as FOCKE & PFUHL] 19 Jan 1971 [17 Dec 1970] 2636/71 Heading B8C Before bottles or cans 10 arranged in rows are packed, transverse partition members 24-27 are introduced between the rows. The bottles 10 are fed by a chain to grouping cogs 28-31 and then in groups by driver rods 33. Insertion devices 41-43 are positioned in a staggered manner over the path of the groups to insert in succession longitudinal members 21-23 in each group. Each device comprises a magazine, a chain ejector, and a delivery guide. Longitudinal guides 36 and 40 converge after the insertion laterally to compress each group. Upstream or downstream of the devices 41-43 is a device 48 which inserts the transverse members 24-27. This device is located over a conveyer belt 19 which travels at a faster rate than the driver rods 33 so as to separate temporarily the transverse rows in each group.
