Abstract

Printing-surfaces.-A plate-clamp for securing electrotype, stereotype, and other plates on slotted beds or cylinders comprises a clamping-jaw on a body part fitting the slot. and recessed or cut away for a movable member which may be moved laterally, by a rotatable screw member, to grip the sides of the slot. As shown, the jaw 1, which engages the plate 4, may be integral with the body 6, with fits in and is movable along the slot 7 in the bed 5. The slot and body preferably have undercut or inclined sides as shown. The lower part of the body 6 is cut away on one side for the movable member 14, which may be forced laterally to grip the slot by the conical head 11 of a screw 10 engaging a tapped hole in the body and operable by means of a screw-driver slot 12. Semi-conical recesses are formed in the body 6 and member 14 for the head 11 to engage.
