Abstract

1328588 Ignition coils FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 8 Dec 1971 57134/71 Heading HIT An ignition coil is manufactured by disposing the various parts such as core portions 1, 11, windings 5, 7, terminals 13, 15 and tubes 3 and 9 in their correct relative positions in a mould and covering them with a liquid plastics material which is moulded to locate the parts and to form the casing for the coil. The plastics material may also form a distributer cap around the h.t. terminal, the latter being formed by a carbon contact (29, Fig. 2, not shown) engaging an aluminium cap (27) fitting on the end of the central core member. The distributer cap portion is provided with h.t. terminal members for co-operation with the distributer rotor.
