1328508 Metal marking PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd 15 Dec 1970 [15 Dec 1969] 61015/69 Heading C7B Workpieces are electro-chemically marked by moistening an absorbent pad attached round the surface of an electrically conductive cylinder with an electro-chemical etching electrolyte, connecting the cylinder and workpiece to a source of electrical energy and rolling the cylinder and pad across the surface of the workpiece with a stencil disposed between the pad and the workpiece. The stencil may be removably mounted around the absorbent pad or it may be flat and simply placed on the workpiece. The cylinder may be formed of non-corroding material and an alternating current source may be used.
