Abstract
1,219,733. Electro-chemical marking. VOLKSWAGENWERK A. G, April 26, 1969, No. 21426/69. Heading C7B. A device for electro-chemically marking metal components comprises a plurality of rod-shaped cathodes insulated from one another and grouped into symbol areas, e.g. copper wires embedded in a block of plastics material, and switching means for supplying current to selected rods to connect them electrically together in required combinations to form a predetermined configuration, e. g. by using plug plates provided with plugs. The switching may be automatic. The electrolyte placed between the cathode and anodic workpiece may be NaCl solution.
