Abstract
Mounting for anodes for an electrolytic cell consists of a base plate made in a conducting metal which is not attached by the electrolyte esp. Ti several anode mounted in contact with the surface of the base plate, and >=1 electrical conductors attached to the other surface of the base plate. The second surface of the base plate is pre-tinned before joining it to the electrical conductors, by contact with a molten tinning alloy, with the aid of an ultrasonic probe. Method overcomes the problem of making joints to titanium due to the surface oxide layer always present on Ti.
