Abstract
1328492 Fibrous composition MORGANITE CERAMICS FIBRES Ltd 19 Aug 1970 [21 Aug 1969] 41810/69 Heading C3N A sprayable insulating or refractory composition comprises chopped mineral wool, chopped ceramic fibres and a binder. The composition preferably contains not more than 40%, e.g. 10-20%, by weight of ceramic fibre, based on the total weight of fibre. The ceramic fibres may be made by melting pure clays at high temperatures. The binder is commonly cement and the composition may also contain oils, surface active agents, cellulose ethers, clays, fillers and plasticizing agents. The composition may be sprayed on to any article to form an insulating coating. The specific example refers to a composition of 60% by weight mineral wool, 15% by weight ceramic fibre and 25% by weight aluminous cement.
