Abstract

1328456 Freeing fouled anchor A A T SHUTE 4 May 1972 [4 May 1971] 12832/71 Heading B7S A device for freeing a fouled stockless anchor 1 includes a recovery sleeve 10 which is slidable down the anchor line 18 on to the shank 2 which has an abutment 3 over which the sleeve can pass. The leading edge 11 of the sleeve has an attachment hoop 14 to which lifting line 16 is attached before the sleeve is slid down the anchor line. A pull on the lifting line causes the sleeve on the shank to free the anchor and the sleeve is prevented from sliding off the shank by engagement of its trailing edge against abutment 3.
