Abstract

1328130 Laminates UNITED STATES BORAX & CHEMICAL CORP 17 Dec 1970 [3 Aug 1970] 59979/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A fibreglass laminate is prepared by placing on a support a layer of polyethylene terephtalate and then on this two fibreglass matts and a thin veil of fibreglass, then applying a resin mixture consisting essentially of a halogenated e.g. brominated, polyester containing as a fire retardant a mixture of hydrated zinc borate and alumina hydrate (0À5-5 parts by weight per 1 part by weight of the zinc borate) and working this into the fibreglass, then applying a second sheet of terephthalate film and working and rolling until smooth, then initially curing under pressure, and finally removing the terephthalate film and curing at 200‹ F.
