Abstract

1327772 Mechanized switches JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 16 Dec 1970 [31 Dec 1969] 63412/69 Heading H1N A latched switch is actuated by pushbutton 18 and released by pushbutton 19. When pushbutton 18 is depressed it pushes slider 14 until spring loaded plunger 16 engages in recess 14b, to hold slider 14 in position. Simultaneously pawl 21, pivoted to pushbutton 18, is pivoted by spring 22 in pushbutton 18 so that its right hand end engages behind step 14d on slider 14. If pushbutton 18 is again depressed, pawl 21 pushes slider 14 until plunger 16 engages in recess 14a and simultaneously pawl 21 is further pivoted by spring 22 so that its end engages behind step 14e. When pushbutton 19 is depressed, cam surface 24 on pushbutton 19 engages a projecting finger on plunger 16 to depress plunger 16 and simultaneously cam surface 26 on pushbutton 19 pivots pawl 21 back to free it from step 14e so that slider 14 moves back under the action of spring 17 until plunger 16 engages recess 14b and pawl 21 engages step 14d. Further depression of pushbutton 19 again depresses plunger 16 and frees pawl 21 by cam surface 27 so that slider 14 returns to its original position shown in Fig. 1.
