Abstract

1327211 Advancing mine roof supports GULLICK DOBSON Ltd 12 Aug 1971 [12 Aug 1970] 39858/70 Heading E1P In an advancing mine roof support comprising a forward frame 13 and a rearward frame 13a interconnected by a ram 16 for push-pull advancement, the roof-engaging members 12 are of arcuate configuration, provided with hard rubber rollers 14 and are urged into engagement with the roof by rams 15 which in the case of the forward frame act on a link arrangement 18, 19 as shown. In a modification, see Fig. 4 (not shown), each roof-engaging member of the forward frame is acted upon by rams synchronised to push the members back relative to the base at the same rate as the base itself is being advanced.
