Abstract

1327078 Injection-moulding shoe soles P R DE RYCK 12 Oct 1970 [16 Oct 1969] 48331/70 Heading B5A Soles are injection-moulded on footwear by apparatus comprising a mould, a last carrying a shoe upper, a movable support for the last, an injection head, at least two pins on the support between which the last fits, and magnetic connecting means to connect the last to the support. As shown in Fig. 2, the apparatus comprises a pivoted arm 1 on which is mounted the support comprising plates 2, 3 joined by cross-braces 4. Five internally threaded hollow pins 5 are mounted on plate 2 by bolts 8 and are adjustable in slots (7, Fig. 1, not shown). Pins 5 also carry bolts 6 which are vertically adjustable by nuts 9. A further support 10 is held by bolt 13 in slot (12) on plate 2 and carries bolt 11 which is also vertically adjustable by nut 14 and carries a head 15 covered with rubber 16. An H-shaped support 18 is also mounted on plate 2 on bolts 19 by nuts 21 at the end of each limb so as to be vertically adjustable and carries a magnet 17. The last 22 which may be wooden carries upper 24 so as to fit between the supporting pins 5, 6. Last 22 also carries a steel plate 23 by which it is held to magnet 17. The last support is connected to a level (not shown) which pivots the support relative to arm 1 against a spring force so that, as the arm 1 is rotated in a circular arc, the support moves perpendicularly to the axis of rotation and to the surface of the mould.
