Abstract

868,969. Winches for stringing cables upon supporting towers. PETERSEN, G. A. M. Aug. 9, 1957 [May 9, 1957], No. 24450/57. Divided out of 868,966. Class 78 (5). [Also in Group XXVIII] The apparatus used in Specification 868,966 has the bull wheels thereof formed with grooves having a resilient surface (e.g. rubber, plastic or neoprene). In Fig. 10 the bull wheel 100 has a cast aluminium rim 53 on which is moulded a neoprene facing 55. In Fig. 14, the bull wheel 100 is faced with a plurality of segments 58, each segment comprising a neoprene facing 55 bonded to a metal backing 59 secured by screws 61 to the rim 53. Specifications 868,967 and 868,968 also are referred to.
