Abstract
1326982 Mounting for a missile; missile containers P LE CHEVALIER and J BLANGIS 21 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 10600/71 Headings F3A and F3C A support pad for a missile container having shoes 1, 2, Figs. 1 and 2, is provided with V- shaped slideways 3, 4 and flat slideways 5, 6, and has locking members 7, Fig. 5, each of the latter holding a respective shoe to the pad. The locking members 7 each pivot about a respective shaft 8 and are moved into the locking position shown by a screw 9, for example, which is carried by the respective slideway. A stud 12 on the pad facilitates the rocking of the respective member 7. One end of the container is provided with resilient members 11, Fig. 7, each of which is interposed between a screw 10 and a locking member 7 so as to allow for differential expansion between the container, which may be made of light alloy, and the pad, which may be made of steel. The placing of the container on the pad is facilitated by removable guide arms 13, Fig. 2. The shoes 1, 2 may be covered with a coating of synthetic plastics material or a layer of zinc to protect against corrosion and electrolytic effect.
