Abstract

1435714 Lacquers IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 30 May 1973 [5 June 1972] 25201/73 Divided out of 1435713 Heading C3P [Also in Division B2] A lacquer for applying as a coating on to the surface of a sheet, layer or moulded article of a polymeric material in order to render the surface suitable for painting comprises a dispersion of a film-forming polymeric material having a glass transition temperature greater than 70‹ C. in one or more non-aqueous volatile liquids, and containing from 90 to 480 parts by wt. per 100 parts by wt. of the film-forming polymeric material of a particulate inorganic material. In examples the lacquer contains a mixture of medium and high M.Wt. polymethyl methacrylates, toluene, methylethylketone, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate and zinc naphthenate.
