Abstract
1326738 Fluid operated motors JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 30 Nov 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 51758/69 Headings F1K and F1M A radial cylinder fluid operated motor has a sleeve 21 surrounding the pintle 15 having a passage 25 therein and means for moving the sleeve relative to the pintle so as to vary the position of the passage relative to ports 19, 20 in the pintle. Rotation of the sleeve 21 in an anti-clockwise direction reduces the power output of the motor until the passage 25 lies between the ports 19, 20, when the fluid supply to the cylinder bores ceases, stopping the motor. Further rotation of the sleeve 21 in an anti-clockwise direction causes the rotor 27 to move anticlockwise, the power output of the motor corresponding to the position of the sleeve 21. The rotor has two axially spaced rows of radial cylinders. When the rotor is stationary slippers 31 engage rings 34, one only of which is shown, and this prevents the pistons slipping down the bores 28.
