Abstract
1326093 Optical apparatus REDIFON Ltd 27 April 1971 [15 May 1970] 23677/70 Heading G2J [Also in Division C4] A visual display arrangement comprises an optical projector 12, a concave mirror 10 disposed to direct light to an observer, and optical means 11 located substantially at the focal surface of the mirror for redirecting light associated with a real image formed by the projector at the optical means on to the mirror, to cause the mirror to form a virtual image at infinity the optical means being constructed to permit at least part of the light collinated by the mirror to pass therethrough towards the observer. As shown, the light from the projector is transmitted to the mirror but alternatively it may be reflected from the optical means to the mirror, Fig. 2 (not shown), the optical means may be a grooved plate, a plate carrying prism-shaped projections a composite plate formed by cementing a saw-tooth profile surface of one plate to a plane surface of another, a diffraction grating, a hologram, or a photochronic material. The optical means may be static or vibrated, or, when the projector has a scanning component, be a small plate &c. scanned in register with the scanning of the projector.
