Abstract

1325511 Flame-start installation for an internal combustion engine DAIMLER-BENZ A G 16 Nov 1971 [21 Nov 1970] 53174/71 Headings F1K and F1B A flame start installation for an internalcombustion engine comprises an electric switch which permits continued operation of the installation after the engine has started only if a predetermined minimum engine speed is maintained. As shown a relay 3 is energized by way of a contact 2 on the engine starter switch and switches on the motor driven pump 1 thus rendering the flame start installation operative. On completion of the engine starting operation, operation of the flame start installation is maintained by an engine speed monitor 5 with a switch connected in parallel with the contact 2. The installation is also controlled by a thermosensitive device 4 responsive to the temperature of the engine cooling water.
