Abstract
1325471 Screw rotor compressors KUHLAUTOMAT VEB 29 Oct 1970 51585/70 Heading F1F In an externally meshing screw rotor compressor, both axial and radial i.e. eccentric thrust movements of the screw rotors 4 are opposed i.e. compensated by hydraulic pressure supplied via duct 11 to a piston chamber 9, the axial thrust being absorbed by the reaction force of the hydraulic pressure on a piston 2 fast on the screw rotor 4 whilst the radial movements are opposed i.e. compensated by the resulting radial pressure drop at the increased clearance side of compensating chamber 15, formed by a floating bush 13, resulting from the radial i.e. eccentric movement of the screw shaft which allows the resulting higher diametrically radially opposing pressure in the compensating chamber 15 to counteract and thus compensate i.e. oppose the eccentric movement of the screw shaft 4. In Fig.2 (not shown) the former floating bush of Fig.1 is fixed and the piston, fast on the screw rotor 4, is formed of two parts one of which functions in a similar manner to the floating bush of the Fig.1 embodiment when radial i.e. eccentric movement of the screw shaft 4 causes a radial pressure imbalance in the compensator chamber (12).
