Abstract

1323768 Laminates MONTAGUE BURTON Ltd 9 Nov 1971 [9 Nov 1970] 53107/70 Heading B5N A method of temporarily attaching a canvas lining to a garment part comprises applying an adhesive to either the canvas lining or the garment part, superposing the lining and the garment part in their desired positions and subjecting the resultant assembly to heat and pressure, wherein the adhesive comprises a copolymer of n-butyl acrylate and methyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate and ethyl acrylate or ethyl acrylate and acrylonitrile. The adhesive which may contain a surfactant is preferably applied by a knife or roller, from a spray-gun or aerosol container or from a ball-point applicator in the form of a paste or suspension in water. The heat and pressure may be applied by a heated smoothing iron or by a steam press.
