Abstract

PURPOSE: To strongly fix a friction material and a back plate by burying the tip of a rivet fixed to a back plate in a friction material by expanding it in an arrow wheel form along the surface of the back plate.

The rivets 3 is bent its tip portion outwards and then expanded in an arrow wheel form by means of the pressure of the heat prss in the inside of the friction material 8, whereby the friction material 8 and the back plate 1 are joined with each other mechanically strongly and the separation of the friction material 8 from the back plate 1 due to heat 2 or others can be prevented. Also, the friction allowance can be obtained until the outwardly bent tip of the rivet 3 comes into contact with the brake disk.
