Abstract

PURPOSE: To reinforce joined parts, by a method wherein a heat-bondable polyurethane film whose shrinkage degree formed on a release paper is the same as that of a wet suit cloth or greater than that thereof is bonded to the joining area of each cut piece of the wet suit.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-bondable polyurethane film whose shrinkage degree formed on a release paper is the same as that of a wet suit cloth or greater than that thereof is bonded to the surface or the back of the joining area of each cut piece of the wet suit cloth in process by the application of heat and pressure in order to prevent the application of force generated during shrinkage concentrically to the joined parts and also to reinforce the joined parts. The film is effective in the bonding of parts which always expand and contract during the wearing of the wet suit or where there is the possibility of rubbing and tearing. The film can also be used for the repair of parts damaged during wearing. When the film is a colored polyurethane, the film is suitable for use in naming, marking, etc.
