Abstract
1323433 Aluminium base alloys SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd and SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 July 1970 33816/70 An aluminium base alloy useful as electrical conductor material has a composition in the range Al and impurities the balance with the optional presence of grain refining elements, agehardening improving elements and/or corrosion resistance improving elements. The alloy is worked, e.g. rolled, while cooling from a temperature in the range from about 500-550‹ C at a rate of at least 1C‹ /second, the working including a stage of hot working, a stage of warm working and a stage in which working is effected whilst cooling from 100‹ C to room temperature and in which there is a reduction in area of at least 10 per cent. The alloy may subsequently be aged at 160-200‹ C and then cold worked. There may also be a stabilizing ageing at 100-150‹ C
