Abstract

1323271 Particle analysis COULTER ELECTRONICS Ltd 20 March 1972 [26 March 1971] 12973/72 Heading G1N An aperture tube for a Coulter particle analyzer using H.F. of 500 KHz # 10's MHz has the electrodes formed as conducting coatings of e.g. platinum deposited on the inside and outside of the tube and extending down close to the aperture. This reduces the flow of H. F. currents in the electrolyte and the resultant heating and "noise". This modification may also be applied to a double walled tube Figs.6, 7 (not shown) as described in Specification 1259507 or to a "fabricated" tube Figs. 2..5 (not shown) where a plastics tube (54) has exterior and interior metal cylinders (58), (62). Several prior Specifications are referred to.
