Abstract
1322240 Self propelled floor scrubber STAR INDUSTRIES Inc 9 Sept 1970 [8 June 1970] 43101/70 Heading A4F A self propelled floor scrubbing machine comprises a wheeled hydraulically driven body carrying subframes 10, 41 for supporting respectively scrubbing brush and squeegee assemblies wherein the scrubbing brush subframe is mounted beneath the body by a pair of supporting arms 21, 22 connected at one end by a cambered cross beam 20 to which a frame member 17 of the subframe is connected to allow tilting of the subframe, there being shock absorbing connections 36, 36 between the ends of the cross-beam and a support assembly 30 hydraulically operable to raise and lower the scrubbing brush subframe relative to the body, wherein the squeegee supporting subframe comprises a pair of extensible parallelogram linkage mechanisms, one link of each being connected to the body, the other to the squeegees and the squeegee parallelogram linkages are collapsed and extended hydraulically to raise and lower the squeegee relative to the body. A loose joint 54 on each parallelogram permits the squeegees to ride over surface irregularities. A common hydraulic fluid circuit Fig. 6 (not shown) drives both the vehicle propelling motor and the scrubbing brush motors 15, 16 and is arranged so that when the vehicle reverses the squeegees and brushes are lifted automatically.
