Abstract
1322068 Electric selective signalling CANON KK 16 July 1970 [17 July 1969] 34564/70 Heading G4H Signals from the function keys of an electronic calculator are converted to n-bit signals from which a plurality of calculator control signals are derived some of which are common to different keys. Operation of any of the function keys 20-30, some of which may be operated simultaneously, generates via the diode matrix of Fig. 3 a 4-bit signal on leads EC1-EC4 which is sent to the calculator where a decoding matrix (Fig. 4) from the 4-bit signal on leads 60-63 and its inverse form on leads 68-71, generates control signals CR1-CR7. Some of the keys give two or more control signals, some of which signals being common to different keys. The arrangement shown in Fig. 4 may be embodied by a MOS transistor matrix (Fig. 5, not shown).
