Abstract
1370591 Telegraphy; station identification NCR CORP 2 March 1973 [17 March 1972] 10254/73 Heading H4P A station identification arrangement comprises a matrix 46 having 21 rows 1-i, each representative of one character, and seven columns A-G representing seven bit characters. Column H represents a stop bit. Normally the matrix is at positive potential but rows are sequentially grounded which is detected by inverter gates 56-59 giving 1 outputs at each position a diode, e.g. 52 is connected. A send SD or enquiry flag signal EY applied over lines 32 or 30 respectively to inputs of OR 72 sets monostable circuit 74, and on reset flip-flop 70 sets and IDSF output enables a 21 stage shift register 76 which is stepped by clock pulses causing issue through the matrix of identification signals. These may be printed or not as desired. A latch 80 set by multivibrator 78 causes a keyboard to be locked during this period. A RST signal from (20), Fig. 1 (not shown), through inverter 81 to NAND 90 sets flip-flop 64 and inhibits multivibrator 74 from acting on any further send or enquiry signals during the time a character is being sent to interface (14).
