Abstract
1321873 Tyre pressure indicators MICHELIN & CIE (COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABS MICHELIN) 20 July 1970 [21 July 1969] 35108/70 Heading B7C [Also in Division H1] A fluid pressure switch intended for monitoring the inflated pressure of pneumatic tyres is connected by nut 5 on the end of tube 3 to the valve of the tyre. When the pressure falls, diaphragm 13 and piston 11 are forced downwards by spring 36 and as rod 20, connected to piston 11 moves down cam surface 24 moves down and the ball on the right hand end of contact slide 40 runs down cam surface 24, as slide 40 is pushed to the right by its spring, until the flat right hand end of slide 40 comes to rest against member 30. Slide 40 cannot move further to the right until member 30 has descended sufficiently for slide 40 to come off the end of member 30 at which occurrence slide 40 snaps to the right to make contacts 40, 45. When the tyre is reinflated (through the right hand end of tube 3) diaphragm 13, piston 11, rod 20 and cam surface 24 rise, pushing slide 40 to the left to break contact, and when slide 40 clears member 30, member 30 is moved upwards by its spring to the position shown in Fig. 1.
