Abstract

1321430 Knitting machines TEXPATENT Sarl (TEXPATENT GmbH) 18 Aug 1970 [19 Aug 1969] 39631/70 Heading D1C A positive yarn feed for a circular knitting machine comprises, at each knitting station, a rotating former 2 on which yarn windings are advanced by lamellae 13 which move outwardly to project from the former and forwardly and inwardly and backwardly within the former. Drum 2 is carried on a shaft 29 rotatably mounted in a stationary support 5 which carries winding-on guide eye 52 and take-off guide-eye 54. Strips 13 are oscillatable radially in slits in drum 2 by cam bodies or eccentrics and axially by cam 138. In another arrangement, Fig. 6, the coil 102 is held by two groups of alternating strips controlled by cams 148, 158. In another arrangement Figs. 8, 9, drum 2 is rotatable on a fixed spindle 3 and has part circular recesses 135 in which are located rods 13 carried on plates 131, 132 rotatable about parallel offset axes. Thread breakage detectors 90, 91 are provided in this arrangement. In a further arrangement, Fig. 11, two rollers 207, 208 arranged end to end have radial webs 207a, 208a projecting longitudinally beyond their ends into the gaps of the webs of the other roller. Roller 207 is rotatable by belt 41 through disc 4 clutch parts 212, 213 operated by guide eye 54 and shaft 210 while roller 208 is freely rotatable on bearing 209 whose axis is at a small angle to the axis of shaft 210. Pins 207b on roller 207 engage recesses 208b on roller 208.
