Abstract

1320612 R.F. feed-throughs; phase shifters RAYTHEON CO 22 June 1971 [22 June 1970] 29283/71 Heading H1W A feed-through arrangement, e.g. for the control conductors of a latching ferrite phasechanger, comprises a conductive disc 32 attached to the conductor 27 and forming, with the outside of the waveguide or transmission line 23 a resonant radial line. The disc 32 has a diameter of one quarter wavelength of the transmitter wave energy and is in the form of a plating on a plug 31 made of a lossy dielectric material, e.g. iron-loaded epoxy resin. Such loading serves to lower the Q of the resonant radial line. The three-bit catching phase-shifter consists of three ferrite cylinders 26a, 26b, 26c each associates with a pair of magnetizing conductors 27t, 27r. The ferrite cylinders are separated by cylinders 33 of magnesium titanate.
