Abstract
1,252,762. Thermonuclear apparatus. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 21 Jan., 1969 [22 May, 1968], No. 24547/68. Heading G6P. A thermonuclear plasma is confined within a torus, 12, comprising an electrically insulating shell, 14, which supports the helical conductor 13a. R.F. power is coupled into 13a from a separate conductor wound adjacent to part of 13a. The helix has a distributed inductance and capacitance such that at the resonant frequency modes, the electromagnetic field is localized near the helix.
