1320603 Making bags HAMAC-HANSELLA GmbH 15 July 1971 [15 July 1970] 33340/71 Heading B5D [Also in Division B8] A bag of circular cross-section comprises a side wall portion 1 made from flexible heat sealable material and a disc-shaped bottom 3 heat sealed to the outer surface of an inwardly turned marginal portion 2. The side wall of the bag is composed of a thermoplastic sheet material whilst the bottom 3 which is stiffer than the side wall, consists of a thermoplastic foil or a composite plastics material or a heat sealable laminated paper or board. The bag is made by forming a tubular body portion on a mandrel so that an end of the body portion projects beyond the end of the mandrel, heating this projecting end to draw it radially inwards to form the inturned marginal portion and heat sealing the bottom to the marginal portion.
