Abstract
1320468 Range finding SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 23117/71 Heading H4D In a radar system the transmitted pulses are radiated in a beam having a cross-section at maximum range not larger than that of the smallest target to be detected. Such target masks the beam from any further objects whereby the last response on the display is said to be that of said target. A laser radar is exemplified, although it is stated that radio waves may also be used. Three echo signals E k , E m , E n ) Fig. 2, produced by parasitic subjects O K , O M and sought object ON are fed to a count-up/oount-down counter such that of the end of the scanning, the signal E n is in the nth store unit. With the pulse transmission repeated, the content of the counter at the end the subsequent video signal is such that the only remaining pulse is in the first store unit and is that due to the sought target.
