Abstract
1297086 Pulse radar J W LASSITER 1 Oct 1970 46791/70 Heading H4D It is stated that ground-wave propagation at 100 MHz and above, at many times line-ofsight distance, is sufficient to enable position determination. In an embodiment a ship carries a pulse radar which triggers replies from responders at known positions some hundreds of miles away. The radar may comprise the apparatus outlined in Fig. 4, transmission being alternately on frequencies f 1 , f 2 ; one responder replies on f 1 and the other on f 2 .
